Welcome to the Moss Hachey Law Blog! We intend to publish monthly blog entries about legal topics that will interest regular New Brunswickers. Blog entries may include minor legal questions, summaries of court decisions, or interesting facts about the law.
OUR STORY
Prior to founding Moss Hachey Law in January of 2021, lawyers Erika Hachey and Andrew Moss practiced mostly “insurance defence” law. Insurance companies hired Erika and Andrew to defend them and their customers against lawsuits and insurance claims. Claimants were typically injured people seeking compensation or benefits.
As insurance defence lawyers, Erika and Andrew researched claimants on social media and ordered surveillance to see the claimants’ activities. They scoured claimants’ medical records for “pre-existing conditions” and failures to follow medical advice. They hired medical experts to provide “second opinions” about claimants’ injuries and limitations. Erika and Andrew advised insurance companies which claimants to pay and how much to pay them.

After years of practicing insurance defence law, Erika and Andrew realized that few of the people bringing lawsuits and insurance claims are con artists, faking injuries for financial gain. Mostly, the claimants are regular people who suffered an injury or illness and need help navigating the legal system or insurance claims process.
Erika and Andrew quit insurance defence work and founded their own personal injury law firm, Moss Hachey Law, in Fredericton. Now, they help regular people get the compensation they need. Erika and Andrew can tell you what the defence attorneys are thinking, because they know. If you have suffered an injury, or your insurance claim was denied, contact Moss Hachey Law. We’re here to help.
